The Ultimate Droste (http://letitbegreat.com/)

In a small coup for media art, our animation company, Sixty40, bought an ad spot during Dr. Phil and screened a (very) short film of a series of pull outs through a TV in a lounge room with a variety of characters cheering each other. What makes it ultimate? We invited people around to the lounge room that the animation is set in and filmed that. We encourage people everywhere to take control of their TV by putting their own weirdness on air as soon as possible! — By mookontheboing at 9:24 PM Sun

I got tired of hearing wild Obama theories, so I decided to out-crazy the crazies by creating my own innuendo-filled Twitter posts about Obama. can you live comfortably in new york city for a week without plastic, electricity, paper (i.e. toilet paper), the subway, elevators, air conditioning, heat, a fridge, coffee, the super market, and your credit card? how about a year? that is what colin beavan set out to discover taking his wife and daughter along on a zero impact living adventure. of course a book, movie, and t.v. appearances are part of the non-zero impact side show, but how can you know what you really can do without without trying first? — By lewis stoole at 5:41 PM Sun

Along parts of the Antarctic coast, glacial ice flows into bays, where it forms shelves of floating ice hundreds of metres thick. They extend out to sea, but remain attached to land on at least one side. Shelves can remain stable for millions of years. The Ross Ice Shelf is the largest, and covers a similar area to France. Girl Plays a Harp on a SEPTA Train (http://geekadelphia.com/)

I was coming home from covering Inochicon where I was recording the Reni Mimura concert on the 570 R5 Landsdale/Doylestown Regional Rail, and a girl got on the train... with a harp. Now I thought the fact that the girl was carrying around the harp was crazy enough and due to the sheer size of the thing. Everyone on the train was openly fascinated with the instrument and the conductor joked that she should play a song, and everyone sort of chimed in and agreed. She eventually relented and played a short set. — By Dan Tabor at 4:59 AM Sun

In Europe, buildings were becoming much more sophisticated. At the height of ancient Greek civilization, between 500 and 400 BC, the Greeks were using blocks of marble or limestone for their temples and public buildings. Some stones were cut so accurately that they fitted together perfectly, but the Greeks also used iron or bronze clamps to hold stones together. Columns were made by standing shaped pieces of stone on top of each other. The stones were lifted into position with pulleys and fixed together — By MrGhaz at 2:49 AM Sun

These post cards have waited long enough. (http://www.flickr.com/ph)
